| Pitch frequency estimation is one of the important issues in speech processing. Detection of formant frequencies is also a basic step in speech processing. Formant frequencies are essentially resonance frequencies of the vocal tract. These frequencies vary among different persons and words, but they are within certain frequencies range. Practically, the calculation of three formants is sufficient for coding and other processes. The most common method for estimating formants is using Cepstrum. In this study, a new method is presented based on wavelet transform and filter bank notion. |
